UncategorizedWhat is Reflexology and How is it Beneficial?

Did you know that applying pressure to specific areas and points on your hands, feet, and ears can have a beneficial effect on other areas of your body? That may sound pretty unbelievable, but it’s true! It’s a method called reflexology. In fact, reflexologists believe that these reflex and pressure points correspond to different systems and organs throughout the body. At Le Reve Rittenhouse Spa, we offer this treatment as a form of therapy to improve circulation, promote relaxation, and encourage your body to heal itself.

What is reflexology?

Reflexology cannot be used to diagnose or cure health disorders, but it is used by millions of people to complement other treatments that address conditions including asthma, anxiety, headaches, diabetes, cancer treatment, and more. At Le Reve Rittenhouse Spa, we believe that this is a healing treatment where the massage therapist, in Center City and other local areas, massages and applies pressure to the person’s feet while rubbing in enhanced essential oils.

How does it work?

Reflexology is somewhat similar to massage therapy, but instead of massaging the entire body, this treatment applies steady, gentle pressure to certain points on the feet. The pressure then corresponds to and stimulates different organs and systems in the body to relieve stress and release energy blockage. A complete session of reflexology will use many different techniques and include all of the pressure points on both feet. By working all of the different points, this treatment will address internal organs along with glands, nerves, muscle groups, and more.

What are the benefits?

You may be wondering how this treatment would be beneficial to you. Well, if you ever received a massage before, then you probably know how fantastic it felt and how stress-relieving it was. Reflexology is similar to receiving a massage because many of the benefits are the same. Some include increasing energy, boosting circulation, preventing migraines, inducing relaxation, and more.

Now that we explained how reflexology works to you, we invite you to come to Le Reve Rittenhouse Spa and try it for yourself. We also provide permanent hair removal in Philly and other local areas. To learn more about reflexology and our other services, contact us at 215-701-6272.
