UncategorizedThree Effective Tips for Dealing with Acne

Whether you’re sixteen or sixty, most of us have dealt with a dreaded outbreak of acne. Acne, or clogged pores that appear on the face as small white or black blemishes, is one of America’s most common skin conditions; more than three million people are diagnosed with some type of acne every year. If you seem to be constantly dealing with blemishes, here are three effective tips that can help keep your pores clear and pimples at bay.

  • Clean your face before you sleep. Nighttime is the time when your body has a chance to repair itself. Give your skin a fighting chance to defeat acne spots by remembering to wash your face before you sleep. Using a gentle cleanser and warm water will help to remove makeup, dead skin cells, and oil that can leave you with a breakout in the morning.
  • Make your life non-comedogenic. “Non-comedogenic” means “does not clog pores;” when you purchase makeup, skincare products, or sunscreen, make sure you’re purchasing products that are denoted non-comedogenic. In addition to watching the products that you use, regularly cleaning anything that comes in contact with your face will help eliminate the possibility of oil or dirt being transferred to your skin and causing blocked pores. You should be cleaning your pillowcase once a week (tossing it in with the laundry is great) and wiping down your cell-phone daily, as these are two places that hidden pore-clogging agents can lurk.
  • Consider an acne facial. The best spas in Center City offer acne facials that combine massage techniques with medical-grade ingredients for maximum absorption and treatment. If you’re serious about treating your acne quickly, an acne facial might be right for you.

When it comes to taking care of your skin, trusting the professionals is the best way to help clear up conditions.
